- I am currently a freelance Camera Operator and editor where my clients include Johnson Baby Products, Lemsip, Christian Aid, Careers Scotland, West Edinburgh Action, the Gorgie/Dalry Partnership, Citizen Online, BizClip Inc, Yell.com, Shelter and Stevenson College Edinburgh.
Previously I was employed by the Ministry of Defence where my responsibility as a video producer/director and editor involved producing training, promotional and recruitment videos for the Army. This covered all aspects of video production - from the initial negotiations of new projects through to the production and post-production stages. My experience and skills are as follow.
I have considerable experience of both SD DV cameras and HDV cameras - Canon XL2, Sony PD150/170, Sony Z1 and Betacam SP I have worked as a camera operator and sound recorder on location and in a studio environment. I have my own HDV camera equipment (Canon A1) and sound equipment.
I also have considerable experience of editing - Avid Express Pro/Composer, Premier Pro and Final Cut Pro plus experience of After Effect and Photoshop. I have my own FCP Studio system for freelance purposes.
My training covers ENG News Gathering Techniques, Avid editing and After Efter (those courses were undertaken while employed by the MOD). I am also a graduate in Physical Sciences majoring in Chemistry (Robert Gordon's University) plus I hold postgraduate diplomas in Computing (University of Paisley) and TV Feature & Documentary Production (University of Salford).
I am an effective team-worker, working closely with contributors, clients and other members of staff. I am adaptable and have the ability to think on my feet, taking each situation as they come.

I certainly do need camera operators/editors - I currently do it all myself but as my business grows I will certainly look to outsource more of what you do.
