Briefly describe your creative business - or your interest in creative businesses: I am a contemporary craftsperson and also art liason officer for MerseyBio, on the University of Liverpool Campus

Tell us more about your creative business...: I make accessories and artwork from recycled materials including reclaimed wire and packaging. I have been working with recycled materials for about 20 years. More recently, I have also been making full size figure sculptures from reclaimed wire for commissions.

Information, ideas and contacts you'd like, to help you become even more successful in your creative business: I am currently taking a break from selling work as in this current financial trough, there seems little point so I am enjoying doing projects for no financial gain, curating and organising shows and networking groups.

For my job as art liaison officer for 2Bio ltd at MerseyBio, I would like to hear from artists/craftspeople who may be interested in exhibiting in our space.

I have set up a new group on Facebook called Art on Wirral - The Left Bank of the Mersey as a place for all Wirral based art related postings. This ties in with my networking group for Wirral based artists, With These Hands, who meet monthly.

Last year I was involved with a major project as part of the Independents called The Six Rooms Gallery, there will be three exhibitions during the time of the Independents. I will be running a recycling handbag workshop on the 25th of September, please email info(at)abscraft.com for more details of costs and location

I also took part in the 7th annual Oxton Art Fair at the Williamson Art Gallery, with 19 artists showing their work but this year I am having a year off after 8 shows.

5th evening With These Hands

Our June "With These Hands" meeting for all Wirral creatives will be

7pm on Wednesday the 30th of June at the Green Community Shop and

Centre in Oxton.

With These Hands

The third "With These Hands" networking event for Wirral visual creatives is on Friday 4th of Dec at 10 until 12 at HOME on Christchurch Road in Oxton Village in the cellar part of the cafe, buy a coffee and join us for a chat, swop cards, find a friend, set up collaborations or just have coffee with like minded folks.

Make one Christmas card and bring it for a swop.

I did an interview in early summer in Home Cafe in Oxton Village with the very beautiful Miss Elizabeth Short. At the same time, was involved with loaning my corsets, jewellery and hats for photo shoot with make-up artist Persis Peters and photographer, Matt Kelly, thankfully as often happens all things came together at the right time and the results are in the October issue of Cheshire Life...£3.45. We are featured in a double page spread on pages 268 and 269. Matt's images are great capturing the detail of the work beautifully and Persis' styling and makeup are very evocative of pre-raphaelite paintings. My screen shots do not do either of them justice.
